The Pioneers moved to 5-0 with a convincing 51-7 victory over Evangel University on Saturday. The offense racked up over 500 yards and the defense held the Crusaders to 212 total yards. The scoring started early. On the Pioneers' opening drive, they drove 78 yards on 7 plays to get a 2-yard touchdown run for Kendall Addison. The big play of the drive was a 58-yard reception by Brock Drumm to get MNU close.

Evangel took their opening drive to the red zone, but the Pioneers forced a fumble and ended the threat. After an MNU punt, the Evangel quarterback threw a pass directly into the hands of Pioneers lineman Travis Huseman for an interception. Addison's 6-yard rush found the end zone, and the Pioneers took a quick 14-0 lead. Pat Ealy added a 22-yard touchdown run and Stephen Doherty tacked on a field goal to close out the half with a 24-0 lead.

Stinson Dean's punishing 11-yard touchdown run started the 3rd quarter. Evangel finally got on the board with a long touchdown drive, but on MNU's first play on the ensuing drive, Dean hooked up with Bryant Jestes for a 57-yard touchdown. Ealy's 2nd touchdown and a tack-on touchdown from Ashford Johnson closed out the scoring for the Pioneers.

Ealy rushed for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. Dean threw for 315 yards and 1 touchdown; he also rushed for a touchdown. Brock Drumm had 4 catches for 102 yards. And Kendall Addison had 58 yards rushing with 2 touchdowns.

The Pioneers are 5-0 (5-0 HAAC). The next game is Saturday, October 11 @ Central Methodist (1-4, 1-3) at 1 pm.
